The most common complaint from online clothing shoppers at KDBAZAR and similar stores is getting the size wrong. The reason is almost always the same: confusing Asian sizing with European or American sizing without accounting for the difference. This guide explains exactly how Asian sizing works, how to convert it accurately, and how to avoid the frustrating and expensive cycle of returns.
Asian clothing sizing standards — particularly Chinese, Korean and Japanese sizing — are based on average body measurements for Asian populations, which tend to be smaller on average than European or American populations. This means the same label size covers a different body measurement in each sizing system. A Chinese size L is roughly equivalent to a UK or US size S or XS in many garment types.
There is no universal “Asian size” standard — Chinese, Korean and Japanese sizing differ from each other. The conversions below are based on the most common Chinese/Korean sizing used by the majority of KDBAZAR suppliers.

Bust/Chest: Measure around the fullest part of the bust/chest, keeping the tape measure level all the way round. Do not pull tight.
Waist: Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waist, usually 2-3cm above the belly button. Breathe normally — do not hold your breath.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom, usually around 20cm below the natural waist.
Foot length: Stand on a piece of paper with your heel against a wall. Mark the end of your longest toe. Measure the distance in centimetres. This is your foot length.
As a general rule, size up 2 sizes from your UK or US size. If you wear a UK Medium, order Asian XL or XXL. For close-fitting items like leggings, measure your waist and compare to the product’s specific size chart rather than using general conversions.
Most clothing and footwear at KDBAZAR uses Asian sizing. Some products from European or UK suppliers use standard UK/EU sizing. The size chart on each individual product page will indicate which system applies.
Check our returns and exchanges policy for full details on size exchanges. To minimise the risk of incorrect sizing, always measure yourself before ordering and compare to the specific product size chart.
